We hope you are doing well during this time of uncertainty, as many states have or are issuing orders requiring the closure of businesses that are not “critical enterprises” or that do not support “critical infrastructure.” Because the Department of Homeland Security has designated transportation equipment manufacturing to be part of the nation’s Critical Manufacturing Sector, HDL intends to remain open to support our customers who in turn are keeping America moving during this time. We feel a responsibility to be able to continue to fulfill the role we serve in supporting critical infrastructure throughout this COVID-19 pandemic. We want to ensure you experience as little disruption as possible and receive as much help as you need.

Supporting Our Customers

Heavy Duty Lighting (HDL) and its customers are directly involved with the manufacture and/or distribution of commercial, over-the-road trucks parts, which are vital to supporting the country’s increasingly stressed supply chain. Our parts are used in trucks that help deliver critical lifesaving and life-sustaining medicine, food, and other essential items to hospitals, first responders, and the general public. We manufacture and distribute parts for vehicles that are critical for the agricultural and construction industries and other essential transportation needs. HDL is a vital supplier to large manufacturing companies as well hundreds of other fleets and parts distributors across the US who fall within that category.

As businesses and communities across the country take drastic steps to help contain the novel coronavirus, we understand our customers are balancing the health of their customers and employees with that of their business. HDL wants you to know we're here to support you! Our current inventory levels and staffing are good and we do not anticipate any major supply issues at this time. However, we encourage you to be prepared during this time by shoring up your stocking levels as well as implementing stringent forecasting plans to help mitigate any unforeseen supply chain delays. Supporting Our Employees

One of our guiding principles is to entrust employees with the authority to deliver outstanding customer service. An integral part of this principle includes providing additional support for our employees during this current environment, including:

  • Providing work-from-home opportunities to our employees where available.
  • Practicing social distancing and providing alternate physical work locations.
  • Increased cleaning and sanitation measures for all workspaces.
  • Canceling all corporate travel, and events, and increasing teleconference and video conference communications.
  • Implemented enhanced measures for safe interaction and communication with vendors, shipping companies and customers.

Supporting Our Community

In this time of great need, we are looking for ways to help others in our community. During the COVID-19 crisis, HDL will be donating a portion of its profits to our medical service providers in the form of much needed medical supplies such as N95 and surgical masks. We plan to continue doing whatever we can to support and help keep safe those who are risking their lives on the front line to fight this pandemic.
